What's New in our GI Fellowship Program?
The Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is pleased to announce several additions and changes to our program.
New faces, new roles
- New fellows - We welcome Drs. Sharon D'Mello, José Garza, Emily Kevan, and Cade Nylund to the program as first year fellows!
- New faculty - The division's faculty has increased in number to 22 for 2007-08, with the addition of Rohit Kohli, MBBS, MS, who joins the division from Children's Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois. His research focus is obesity-related fatty liver disease.
New opportunities
- Expanding research opportunities - A total of 58 faculty members in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, as well as in other divisions and departments at Cincinnati Children's and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, are currently listed on the divisional training grant as mentors for basic science and clinical research in the second and third years of fellowship. Other mentors can be employed with approval of the program director if this makes sense based on the individual fellow's research and career interests.
- New space - In the fall of 2007, the offices and laboratories of the division moved into a brand new 12-story research and office tower.
What's the same?
- Our commitment to education - Despite all the changes, we remain committed to providing an outstanding environment to train outstanding individuals in clinical care, research, and education for careers in academic pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition.
