Interview and Acceptance Process

Interested physicians who will be completing three or more years of pediatric training may apply for a fellowship in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The application season begins in December, interviews are scheduled January through April, and matches are made in May / June. Those selected for the fellowship program would begin their training the following year on July 1.

Potential fellows are strongly urged to interview in person. The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension provides candidates with one night's lodging in Cincinnati.

Generally, the interview involves all of the faculty and fellows of the Division. If the candidate has a specific research interest in one of the focus areas, a visit with the cooperating faculty in that area will also be arranged. This is particularly important for candidates who may be interested in the epidemiology and biostatistics option.

The University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension are committed to the recruitment, training, and success of underrepresented minorities and women in biomedical research. Applications from such candidates are particularly encouraged.
