Job Responsibilities
At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the Orthopaedic Surgery fellow's immediate supervisor is the full-time faculty member on whose service the fellow is presently rotating.
All urgent and emergent questions / issues concerning patients on the service are to be addressed directly with the pertinent faculty member. The complete hierarchy of responsibility follows (in order of increasing level of responsibility):
- Full-time faculty member with whom the fellow is rotating
- Director, Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery
- Surgeon-in-Chief, Cincinnati Children's
- Director, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Research Foundation, and
- Chief Executive Officer, Cincinnati Children's
This "chain of command" is explicitly communicated to the fellow in both written and oral form during the orientation process at Cincinnati Children's.
