Problem Conference
Problem conference represents an outstanding clinical teaching conference with live patient presentations, and is conducted every Wednesday morning from 8:30 am to 10:00 am.
Orthopaedic morbidity and mortality cases are presented by the chief orthopaedic resident and discussed at the beginning of this conference each week.
Following this discussion patients are presented and physical examinations performed by orthopaedic residents and viewed by the audience of faculty members and nurses.
Pertinent x-rays are then reviewed by residents, fellows, and attendings. The clinical fellow is then asked to offer their treatment plan for the patient in a public forum.
Faculty members then each offer their opinions and supply feedback to the fellow.
This conference is aimed at training the fellow to prioritize and synthesize clinical information for the purpose of developing rational and literature supported treatment plans.
Monday Night Conference
Monday Night Conference (7 pm to 10 pm) represents a weekly orthopaedic x-ray conference conducted by the entire full-time pediatric orthopaedic faculty. T
his conference provides a private forum for discussion of difficult cases, diagnostic dilemmas, and orthopaedic morbidity and mortality.
The fellow is expected to not only use this conference to more fully understand the decision-making process utilized by faculty members in selecting various treatment plans, but to also present interesting and challenging cases encountered during the previous week.
Wednesday Morning Conference

Trauma Conference is held from 6:30 am to 7:15 am and covers the full spectrum of adult and pediatric orthopaedic trauma topics. The first Wednesday of each month is devoted completely to pediatric orthopaedic trauma.
