Overview
Each year, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers one to two-year postdoctoral fellowships in Psychology under the scientist-practitioner model. The goals of the Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program are to provide advanced skills in the practice of psychology and to integrate research and clinical services in a pediatric medical center.
Following the completion of training, the expectation is that the fellows will be prepared to function independently at the assistant professor level within a medical school or other professional setting.
Fellows choose to work in one of six focus areas:
Training objectives are individualized and include goals specific to clinical care, teaching, research and professional development. An apprenticeship model where the fellow works closely with a facility mentor(s) in the provisional clinical services and in conducting research is a hallmark of the fellowship program. This model values:
