Application
Before beginning the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, applicants must have completed either an ACGME-accredited residency training program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) or a combined program in pediatrics and PM&R. Applicants must also have the necessary credentials to obtain an Ohio State Medical Board license.
Interviews
Selected potential fellows are strongly urged to come to Cincinnati Children's for a personal interview and the Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation provides candidates with one night's lodging in Cincinnati.
Generally, the interview involves all of the faculty in the division. If the candidate has a specific research interest in one of the focus areas, a visit with the cooperating faculty in that area will also be arranged.
Acceptances
Applications are accepted and positions are filled on an ongoing basis. Since the fellowship positions are sometimes filled up to two years in advance, potential candidates are urged to communicate their interest as soon as possible in the course of their residency.
Residents completing a combined residency in pediatrics and PM&R are asked to submit inquiries and applications in their fourth year of residency so that research mentorship and initiation of project planning can be started during the fifth year of combined training. This is especially important for those residents training at institutions other than Cincinnati Children's.
The appointment is for one to two years, depending on residency experience and begins in July of each year.
