Rheumatology

Application and Selection Criteria

Admission to the Pediatric / Adult Rheumatology Fellowship program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is competitive, and only individuals with strong credentials will be accepted. Final selection will be made by the Executive Committee, pending approval of the Program Director. Clinician-researcher and physician-scientist oriented rheumatology fellows (MD or MD / PhD) and postdoctoral fellows (PhD) will be considered. All applications will be judged on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Demonstrated commitment to careers in biomedical research

Admission will follow attainment of an academic doctoral degree from an approved graduate program in the biomedical sciences; for those with an MD degree, admission will follow three years of pediatric or medicine residency, unless individuals have entered into approved "fast-track" residency programs.

The Cincinnati Children's Division of Rheumatology participates in the National Resident Matching Program.
