Fifth Third Bank / Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Women Scholars Program

Goals

The goal of the Fifth Third Bank / Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Women Scholars Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is to identify and support junior women faculty members who show promise and leadership skills and to help them through the promotion and tenure processes.

The program is designed to help the scholar transition into the tenure track and obtain tenure, if appropriate.

Eligibility

The Fifth Third Bank / Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Women Scholars Program is designed for junior women faculty who have been at the assistant professor level for approximately three to five years or who are at the associate professor level in the non-tenure track.

Women faculty in the Department of Pediatrics or for those in the departments of Surgery, Anesthesia, Pathology and Radiology -- with a secondary appointment in Pediatrics -- are eligible.

Award Amount

Although the financial award for each scholar may vary depending on need, it is intended that approximately $40,000 per year be given to the scholar.
