Contact Hours
Cincinnati Children's will award a total of 188.2 contact hours upon successful completion of the WBGI. Contact hours will be awarded to nurses who participate in an entire course and complete all related evaluations. The contact hours will be awarded as follows:
- Module 1 Basic Human and Molecular Genetics -- 84.2 contact hours
- Module 2 Overview of Clinical Genetics -- 49.6 contact hours
- Module 3 Genetics Nursing Today -- 54.4 contact hours
Criteria for successful completion of the Web-Based Genetics Institute include:
- Complete all independent learning assignments
- Participate in all online group activities by contributing a minimum of two messages per week that are substantive in nature
- Complete the curriculum or skills based survey
- Complete written plan for applying genetics
- Complete all module and course evaluations
- Complete a self-evaluation of your own learning experience
Refunds
A schedule for refunding the registration fee for withdrawal from the WBGI during the following weeks is as follows:
- Week 1
75% of registration fee refunded - Week 2 -- Week 4
50% of registration fee will be refunded - Week 5 -- Week 18
No refund (participants may resume the next WBGI at the beginning of incompleted Module(s) at no additional cost.
Accreditation
Contact hours will be awarded to nurses who participate in an entire course and complete all related evaluations.
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (OH-046/9-1-09) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
