Our Mission
The mission of the Medical Education Development and Learning Studies (MEDALS) program at Cincinnati Children's is to improve and enhance teaching effectiveness and broaden teaching methodologies of physicians and other health care professionals. The program emphasizes:
- Learner-centered instruction in accordance with principles of adult learning
- Educational planning process
- Ongoing feedback to improve teaching and learning
- Recognition of different teaching and learning styles and how to use them effectively
- Evaluation of teaching methodologies through educational research
