Pediatric Surgery

Overview

The Pediatric Surgery Division's residency program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is approved by the Residency Review Committee of the American College of Graduate Medical Education.

The two-year training program accepts one new trainee each year. In addition, residents in general surgery rotate to the Cincinnati Children's Pediatric Surgery Division from the University of Cincinnati; Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati; Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati; and the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.

In addition, Cincinnati Children's residents in pediatrics rotate onto the pediatric surgical service. Medical student education is a significant commitment of the education program. Students in their core course surgical program may rotate onto pediatric surgery, and others electing pediatric surgery as a senior elective also spend time on the surgical service.
