Residents in General Surgery
Residents in General Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Jewish Hospital fulfill their pediatric surgery experience through a rotation in the Division of General and Thoracic Surgery during the third or fourth year of their general surgery program.
Rotations vary from 1 to 4 months, depending upon the agreement between Cincinnati Children's and each of the three participating institutions. During this rotation, residents are exposed to a complete array of routine and complex surgical procedures, including:
- Trauma
- Surgical oncology
- Solid organ transplantation
- Neonatal and pediatric critical care
Operative experience is commensurate with the level of training.
