CME Overview
The Educational Streaming Media Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides Neonatology Grand Rounds via streaming media. View a list of all system requirements.
Presentations are only approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for up to one year from the presentation date. In order to obtain credit, the online post test must be completed. Upon successful completion, a certificate is available to print. Credit records are also tracked electronically by the CME office. The estimated time to complete this activity, including review of the materials, is 1.0 hour(s).
This CME activity is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians as well as other health care professionals. Information and opinion offered by the contributors represent their viewpoints. Conclusions drawn by the participant should be derived from careful consideration of all available scientific information. Prescription information and use of medical devices should be undertaken only after confirmation of information by consulting the FDA-approved uses and information.

All presenters have signed a video tape release form allowing their presentation and its content to be viewed on the web. Presenters are also required to verify that the necessary steps have been taken to ensure patients privacy and confidentiality.

2009 Neonatology Grand Rounds Educational Gap: The American Board of Pediatrics state that four components (1. Evidence of professionals standing, 2. Evidence of lifefong learning and self-assessment 3. Evidence of cognitive expertise and 4. Evidence of satisfactory performance in practice) must be completed for maintenance of certification (MOC) in the pediatric subspecialty of neonatology-perinatology. As evidence of “lifelong learning” the ABP states that "all participants in the MOC program are expected to be involved in continuing education".
2009 Neonatology Grand Rounds Series Objectives: 1. Discuss the pathophysilogy of common diseases in newborn infants 2. Describe the diagnostic approach used to identify and determine the severity of these illnesses 3. Discuss the treatment strategies used for these disease and the medical evidence supporting their use.
