PALS Overview
Pediatric Advanced Life Support courses given by Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center are sponsored by the American Heart Association. These courses, which emphasize small group teaching, present information and skills needed for management of seriously ill or injured pediatric patients.
Provider Courses
Provider courses are two-day comprehensive courses covering basic life support, respiratory failure, shock, cardiac arrhythmias, vascular access, and now including our new Pediatric Human Patient Simulator.
Renewal Courses
Renewal courses are a five-hour refresher of the provider course to be taken two years after the provider course.
Registrants must be physicians, nurses, paramedics or other health care personnel whose occupation requires managing the pediatric patient.
PALS courses are run by the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMS-C) Education staff at Cincinnati Children's.
