World Class Faculty
When you choose Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for your residency, you will join one of the nation's top pediatric medical centers with a distinguished history of educating physicians. Founded in 1883, we've trained more than 2,000 physicians and countless nurses, therapists, child life specialists, social workers, pharmacists, nutritionists and other health care professionals who have enriched the lives of children around the world.
Our renowned faculty is composed of full-time attending physicians and pediatricians in private practice — exposing residents to a variety of role models in both academic medicine and primary care. Faculty serve as ward attendings, teach residents and supervise the care of patients without a private physician. As subspecialty attendings, faculty members head the consultation services and, with fellows, care for patients in their own subspecialty.
Private attendings maintain an excellent relationship with the medical center. These community physicians admit their patients to Cincinnati Children's for joint care with the house staff. Many participate in resident teaching and make their practices available for resident electives.
