Technology at Work at Cincinnati Children's
The technology at Cincinnati Children's will make your life easier and facilitate the delivery of safe patient care. Cincinnati Children’s implemented a new electronic medical record system to help streamline patient care experiences and provide up-to-date and accurate information. This system connects all of the many departments both in the hospital and at satellite clinics. The ED, critical care areas, inpatient units, primary care clinics and subspecialty clinics are all seamlessly connected with the same electronic medical record system. Computers are in every call room so you'll have easy access to patient information 24 hours a day. The radiology equipment and software allows you to view images and reports from anywhere in the medical center. The library offers online subscriptions to most major medical journals, pediatric journals and medical databases.
Have a question on your day off? You can access all of these programs from home through the Cincinnati Children's extranet. You'll stay informed with the pediatric resident web page, which is updated daily with daily conference schedules, weekly announcements, continuity clinic articles and more. Our web site also contains teaching modules for each rotation you will pass through, complete with video demonstrations and PowerPoint lectures.
We realize your life as a resident will be driven by your call schedule. That's why we make each resident's call schedule available online far ahead of time. You will be able to print your personalized schedule in calendar form, email it to your family members and even download it to your PDA and iPhone – all from the confines of your own home!
