Outpatient Experiences

Learning how to help children grow up healthy is the focus at Cincinnati Children's.

Learning how to help infants, children and teens grow up healthy is the focus of our well-developed community-based curriculum for the Pediatric Residency Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Because we are the area's only pediatric medical center, we have developed strong relationships with community physicians who welcome our residents to their offices and share their expertise through formal and informal teaching.

All of our residents have opportunities throughout the community to hone their primary-care skills. You will have your choice of continuity clinic sites:

First-year residents spend one dedicated, call-free month in a private practice and half a month in hospital-based general pediatric clinics. Each ward rotation – subspecialty or general – is complemented with a coordinated clinic experience, ensuring that you will witness the complete spectrum of disease and learn first-hand how family and environmental factors impact your patients.
