How to Apply

Applicants to the Immunobiology Graduate Training Program at Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation and the University of Cincinnati are strongly urged to apply for admission before December 1st. First-year students are enrolled in July of the academic year.

Application Requirements
For admission to the program, a student should have:

  • At least a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Scores from the general of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).  The advanced test (biology or biochemistry) is strongly recommended. 
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Strong undergraduate background in biology

Application Procedure
A student's application include items that need to be sent either to the University of Cincinnati or the Immunobiology Graduate Training Program. This is a guide for what should be sent where:

  • University of Cincinnati Application for Graduate Study (please note: this link will take you to a general online application site at UC. You will need to select the Immunobiology Graduate Training Program from a list of all possible graduate programs.)

  • $40 non-refundable application fee
Send to the Immunobiology Graduate Training Program
  • Personal Data Sheet (.pdf file 6kb)

  • Personal Background Statement, explaining research experience, awards and purpose in seeking admission to the graduate program

  • 3 Letters of Recommendation, mailed directly from the authors

  • Official copy of GRE/TOEFL scores, mailed directly from ETS

  • Offical copy of undergraduate transcript(s), mailed directly from the degree-granting institution.
All of these items must be received in order for an applicant to be considered.

After preliminary screening of all applications, selected applicants may be scheduled for a personal interview. The interview serves as an opportunity for the applicant to meet faculty and graduate students, and to see the program's research facilities and for members of the Program to evaluate the prospective student.
