The Immunobiology Graduate Training Program team members.
The Immunobiology Graduate Training Program at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation emphasizes the preparation of future scientists in both the classroom and the laboratory.
During the first year students must complete required courses, which provide in depth coverage of immunology and immunological mechanisms of disease. In addition, hands-on courses will train students in basic techniques commonly used in immunological research. The first year also includes courses on Molecular Biology and Introduction to Molecular Genetics. During the first year students are required to complete a minimum of two laboratory rotations and select a thesis research advisor.
In the second year, as students prepare to initiate their thesis research, they will take the Advanced Topics in Immunology course, as well as Elective courses in their areas of interest. Throughout the program, students will be expected to participate in research seminar series and journal club series.
