Scholarships

Financial support for participants is generous in the Molecular and Developmental Biology graduate program. As a results, students benefit from livable stipends and research laboratories and supplies that are world class.

Student Financial Support

Students are completely supported by scholarships throughout their tenure in the program. The scholarship package includes a nationally competitive monthly stipend, a health insurance plan and complete tuition remission. Student stipends increase after passing their qualifier exam.

Student Benefits Include:

  1. Full tuition paid by program
  2. Stipend of $24,000 - $28,000
  3. Relocation expense reimbursement up to $400
  4. Health insurance paid by program

Distinguished Scholar Award

The Distinguished Scholar Award is a meritorious award offered to the most highly competitive applicants. The applicants recommended for this award should be truly remarkable in their undergraduate accomplishments in classes and research and demonstrate the potential to become scientific leaders. Final selection is based on the application and the interview. The Distinguished Scholar award provides a one-time payment of $5,000 upon matriculation to be used at the student's discretion.

Training Grants

The Molecular and Developmental Biology Graduate Program has extraordinary support from investigator and institutional research funds, as well as through four separate National Institutes of Health training grants:

  • Organogenesis
  • Developmental and perinatal endocrinology
  • Teratology
  • Pulmonary and cardiovascular development
