Faisal Adhami

Graduated from: Case Western Reserve University
Year of entry: 2001 (MD/PhD program, 2003 in MDB)
Research: My project involves characterizing two aspects of pathology in a mouse model of stroke.  The first involves the spontaneous occurence of clotting in the microvasculature of the injured brain upon stroke.  The second involves the role of autophagy in preventing or causing neuronal cell death after stroke.

Why did you decide to come to Cincinnati?

Great research, great place to raise a family, and go Bengals.

Why would you recommend this program to others?

The research opportunities offered by the faculty are tremendously diverse and on the cutting edge.

What have you enjoyed most about the program?

The weekly seminars allow a wonderful opportunity to keep up on the latest research going on in many excellent institutions.
