Why did you decide to come to Cincinnati?
I came to Cincinnati to join a world renowed laboratory in the field of hematopoietic stem cell biology. Having no prior knowledge of the city, Cincinnati was a pleasant suprise: low living cost, excellent symphony orchestra and ballet as well as interesting sporting events and active night life. As a parent, I was also impressed with the diverse range of familly activities on hand, including the parks, the Zoo and the Children's Museum.
Why would you recommend this program to others?
The graduate program offers exposure to an extensive number of faculties with varied research interests that colaborate on many aspect of their work. For such a large institution, I was impressed with how easy it is to share reagents, laboratory animals and knowledge among different groups.
What have you enjoyed most about the program?
The list of outside speakers that came to Cincinnati while I was here was really impressive and the program was very instrumental in facilitating personal meetings with the speakers over breakfast or lunch for the students.
