As a fellow at the Cincinnati Fetal Center you will participate in a training program that will provide the highest level of fetal care and surgery at one of the most comprehensive fetal treatment centers in the world. Our experienced team includes five maternal-fetal medicine specialists and three fetal / pediatric surgeons, as well as specialists at Cincinnati Children’s representing every pediatric subspecialty.
Through the Fetal Center’s one- and two-year fetal surgery fellowship training programs, individuals will gain broad clinical and academic experience. The program is led by renowned fetal surgeon Foong-Yen Lim, MD, surgical director of the Fetal Center.
The goal of the fellowship is to gain expertise in fetal diagnosis, therapy and surgery in anticipation of a subspecialization in this area. As a fellow you will be involved in the interdisciplinary, multimodal evaluation and treatment of pregnancies complicated by complex fetal abnormalities.
Diagnostic modalities commonly utilized at the Fetal Center include detailed obstetrical sonography, ultrafast fetal MRI and fetal echocardiography.
Fetal therapeutic interventions include advanced procedures available at only a few fetal treatment centers in the country.
Prerequisites for Fellowships Fellowship candidates may be from backgrounds in obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery or pediatric surgery.
Fellows will be appointed through the Graduate Medical Education office of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Salary is commensurate with previous training.
