Headache Medicine Fellowship

The Cincinnati Children’s Headache Center is accredited by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS), and is one of few programs in the United States providing structured training in Headache Medicine: A subspecialty focused on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with head and face pain.

Established in 1996, we are recognized locally, nationally, and internationally as a leader in pediatric headache medicine. Our multidisciplinary team consists of neurologists certified in headache medicine, pain psychologists, and nurses with specialty training in headache medicine. Together, we've provided excellent, evidence-based care to more than 20,000 children, adolescents, and young adults suffering from headache disorders.

Program Overview

We offer a one-year program for candidates with a primary interest in clinical training, and a three-year program for candidates with a higher interest in research. Education is provided by clinical exposure and hands-on experience while working on an individualized research project.

This fellowship requires the completion of an accredited residency program. Candidates may be pediatric neurology residents, adult neurology residents and pediatric residents. Candidates with other residency training will be considered on an individual basis. Board eligibility is required.
