The Pulmonary Fellowship Training Program at Cincinnati Children’s offers three years of clinical and research training in pulmonary medicine for graduates of accredited general pediatrics residency programs. Our goal is to teach the next generation of pediatric pulmonologists the skills needed to achieve excellence in clinical medicine, research and education.
The Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s was ranked second in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Our division receives NIH funding for basic science and clinical research, and our centers of excellence for airway disorders, asthma, chronic ventilation, cystic fibrosis, neuromuscular disorders, rare lung disorders and sleep disorders are recognized as national leaders in those subspecialties. The division performs more than 1,600 flexible bronchoscopies, 2,200 sleep studies and 8,000 pulmonary function tests each year, giving fellows an unparalleled opportunity to gain extensive clinical experience in pulmonary medicine.
Fellows also have the opportunity to pursue clinical or basic science research under the mentorship of more than 25 clinical and research faculty, and have the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in medical education, public health or clinical and translational research.
