Fellowships in Treatment Adherence
Program Goals
The primary goal of our postdoctoral fellowship training programs is to train psychologists and pediatricians to assume leadership roles in research, clinical care, and teaching concerning the management of pediatric chronic illness, especially in the promotion of treatment adherence in children, adolescents, and their families. The adherence center fellowship program was established to meet the critical need for specialized training related to research and practice in adherence to treatment among children, adolescents, and young adults and their families.
Applicants
We are seeking applicants who have a strong interest in research, clinical care and program development related to the management of pediatric chronic illness, with an emphasis on treatment adherence. Applicants will have a PhD in clinical psychology or an MD and fellowship training in a medical subspecialty
Program History and Content
The fellowship program was established in 2007 as a primary initiative of the Center for Adherence Promotion and Self-Management of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The first of its kind in the U.S., the center was established to address important unmet scientific, clinical, and training needs related to treatment adherence and includes six full-time faculty and a program coordinator.
