  • About the Genetic Counseling Graduate Program

The Genetic Counseling Graduate Program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati is a board accredited two-year master’s program designed to prepare students for successful careers in the field of genetic counseling.  Genetic counselors are employed as part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams and work to interpret family histories, promote informed choices, educate patients and serve as patient advocates in the field of genetics.

Students within the Cincinnati program enjoy a wide range of educational opportunities provided by the unique interaction between Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati that combines a strong didactic course load with hands-on clinical and research experience.  At the completion of the program, students will be eligible to apply for certification with the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
