Music Therapy Internship

  • Music Therapy Internship

Music therapy involves the entire family. Our music therapy program serves patients from the age of 0 to young adult, with exceptions going into adulthood due to the very specialized care offered at Cincinnati Children’s.

    Internship Structure and Experience

Internships start in January or July each calendar year. The application deadline for the January cycle is August 1st and for the July cycle the deadline is February 1st.  After receiving a completed application, the music therapy co-director will contact you about setting up an in-person or Skype interview, depending on the applicant’s location.

The intern should expect to accumulate professional clinical experience through a diverse spectrum of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural patient and family care. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center incorporates the philosophy of family- centered care into every aspect of its clinical research and practice.

Upon acceptance to the internship, a legal affiliation agreement between the student’s university and Cincinnati Children’s is required. This will be handled by personnel at the hospital and the legal department of the university. Interns will not be allowed to start their internship until this agreement is complete. Students will also be required to complete a TB test and be fingerprinted when they receive their badges. The intern will be responsible for the cost of the TB test and fingerprinting.
