About the Genetics Education Program for Nurses
The Genetics Education Program for Nurses (GEPN) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center provides access to continuing education, helping nurses meet genetic and genomic nursing competencies, and instructional resources to help nursing faculty add genetics and genomics content to their curricula. As an extension of the Genetics Program for Nursing Faculty (GPNF), originally funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Health Resources and Services Administration, the GEPN has provided teacher facilitated courses to more than 400 nurses and independent self-paced training modules to more than 1,900 nurses.
Accreditation
Cincinnati Children’s (OH-046/9-1-12) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
