    The Primary Care Track of the Pediatric Residency Program provides a rigorous three-year training schedule that involves inpatient and outpatient experiences:

    Outpatient

    • Private Practice* − 1 month
    • Continuity Clinic*** − 1 month
    • Acute Care / Advocacy* − 1 month
    • Emergency Department* − 1 month
    • Vacation – 1 month

    Inpatient

    • General Inpatient Ward*** − 2-3 months (Red, Blue, Orange, Purple, Yellow)
    • Subspecialty Inpatient Services*** − 3 months (may include)
    • Neuroscience inpatient***
    • Pulmonary inpatient***
    • Cardiology inpatient***
    • Hematology / Oncology inpatient***
    • Neonatal Intensive Care*** − 1 month
    • Newborn Nursery*** − 1 month

    *Indicates night-call-free (in year one, private practice month may be night-call free instead of continuity clinic month if distance to private practice is site greater than continuity clinic site)
    ***Regular night call (every fourth or fifth night)

    Year Two

    Outpatient

    • Continuity Clinic** − 1 month
    • Emergency Department* − 2 months
    • Developmental Pediatrics of Adolescent** − 1 month
    • Vacation − 1 month

    Inpatient

    • Floor Senior*** − 2 - 4 months (may include)
    • General Pediatric Inpatient Teams (Red, Blue, Orange, Purple, Yellow)
    • Cardiology, Pulmonary, Adolescent / Endocrine / Nephrology, Neurosciences
    • Gastroenterology inpatient*** − 1 month  
    • Pediatric ICU*** − 1 month
    • Neonatal Intensive Care*** − 1 month
    • General Inpatient Silver Team*** − 1 month
    • Hematology / Oncology

    • Neonatal Intensive Care*** − 1 month
    • Pediatric ICU*** − 1 month
