Triple Board Residency

  • Curriculum

At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the Triple Board Resident Training Program curriculum is designed to integrate clinical rotations, lectures and seminars across the disciplines of pediatrics, psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, providing comprehensive training in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.

The five-year program consists of 24 months of pediatrics, 18 months of general psychiatry and 18 months of child and adolescent psychiatry. Residents attend all teaching sessions offered by the department supervising their current rotation. Additionally, all Triple Board residents attend the weekly administrative meeting and case conference with the training director.

Triple Board residents have unequalled continuity of experiences. Weekly pediatric primary care clinics begin in the first year and continue throughout the five years. Second- and third-year residents see adult patients in long-term psychiatric clinics, while fourth- and fifth-year residents see patients in long-term child and adolescent psychiatric clinics.
