    Trustee Award & Procter Scholar (TAPS) Programs

    The goal of the Procter Scholar Program is to support the development of highly skilled faculty members from the Departments of Pediatrics, Surgery, Radiology, and Anesthesia who have a strong commitment to pursuing a career in academic research. Application should be submitted by Clinical Fellows (MD or MD / PhD) who are transitioning to a faculty appointment or are a faculty member within the first year of initial appointment at Cincinnati Children's. The anticipated outcome of the Procter Scholar Award is the successful transition to a National Institutes of Health K-level award or K-level equivalent awards from foundations. Successful candidates will have a:

    • Strong commitment to pursuing a career in academic research
    • Record of accomplishment in research
    • Strong mentorship along with a clear path to independent research
    • Well defined scientific research plan

    The deadlines for applications are the first Monday of May or October at 5:00 pm.
