Student Awards and Honors

• Kyle McCracken (J. Wells Lab) was awarded the Outstanding Presentation by a 3^rd Year Student Prize at the 2012 MDB Graduate Student Symposium.
  
• Heather McCauley(Guasch Lab) was awarded the Outstanding Poster by a 4^th Year Student Prize at the 2012 MDB Graduate Student Symposium.
  
• Jamie Havrilak (Shannon Lab), Sharina Palencia Desai (Sumanas Lab) & Zheng Zhang (Zorn Lab) were co-awarded the Outstanding Presentation by a 5^th Year Student Prize at the 2012 MDB Graduate Student Symposium.
  
• Vicky Gomez(Yutzey Lab) was awarded the Akeson Award for Outstanding Contributions to the MDB Program in 2012.
  
• Heather McCauley(Guasch Lab) was awarded the Akeson Award for Academic Excellence in 2012.
  
• Kyle McCracken (J. Wells Lab) & Mark Charlton-Perkins (Cook Lab) were awarded Albert J. Ryan Fellowships through the University of Cincinnati.
  
• David Balli(Kalinichenko Lab) was awarded the Dissertation Completion Fellowship for the 2012-2013 academic year.
  
• Juli Uhl(Gebelein Lab) &Shatrunjai Singh(Danzer Lab) were awarded University Research Council Summer Fellowships.
  
• Zirong Gu (Yoshida Lab) was awarded 3rd place presentation prize at the Midwest SDB Meeting in April, 2012.
  
• Mark Charlton-Perkins (Cook Lab) was awarded 3rd place poster prize at the Midwest SDB Meeting in April, 2012.
  
• Jeeyeon Cha (Dey Lab) was awarded an NIH NRSA for her work on “Premature Uterine Aging and Preterm Delivery”.
