With 12 hours time difference between Cincinnati and my hometown, I'm here to join people with similar passion for science as mine and to do excellent scientific work.  I got interest in life science because life is so amazing yet still mysterious. Plenty of work has done in this field and many of them are quite stimulating. As I learn more, I get more excited and eager to make my own contributions. I applied for MDB first because of its diverse research areas, which is extremely helpful to me. I find many fields interesting and rotations would definitely help me make wiser decision, a decision for about five years or even my entire research career. Another attraction is the supportive environment for students here. Obviously, you are free of financial problems. Even more importantly, this is also a good indication that our program value students and regard us as important resources.

The strongest impression during my less than two months' life here is friendliness of faculty and colleagues. Some PIs work in the lab and teach students hand by hand. How encouraging it is that you are working together, instead of for the PI. Everyone is willing to discuss and share their knowledge with you. The friendly atmosphere can even be felt in the elevator or on the hallway.

Here are some good news especially for prospective Chinese students: there are many Chinese studying and working here; there's a Chinese church offering shop ride every weekend; there's even an Asian market where you can buy nearly every Chinese product and food you need. We're here waiting for you!
