My undergraduate degree is from Wilmington College. Post graduation I took a position here at Children’s as a Research Assistant for SK Dey. My time there made me realize that I wanted to pursue a career in research and possibly become a PI. Having spent so much time in a hospital research setting I knew that I loved the environment. I wanted a program that would be able to provide the resources and the support that would grant the best growing environment. That is what I found in the MDB program. As a first year I am currently doing lab rotations. My first completed rotation has been in the Sumanas lab. They are a vascular developmental biology lab, working with zebra fish as an animal model.

After all of the lab work is completed for the day Cincinnati is a great city to explore. There seems to be something going on every day! There are great theaters, art museums, parks, bars with live music and dancing, restaurants, and shopping.
