Cincinnati Walks for Kids
Be sure to join us on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Coney Island for the 2008 Cincinnati Walks for Kids!
Cincinnati Walks for Kids is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the lives that are touched each day by Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Our generous walkers, sponsors, medical center staff and event volunteers have been incredibly supportive. For the 2007 walk, more than 10,000 donations were received, adding up to more than half a million dollars for Cincinnati Children's.
As a not-for-profit, Cincinnati Children's relies on events like the walk to help us meet the healthcare needs of all children in our community. While there is no fee to participate, each walker is simply asked to raise at least $25.
Participants enjoy a 5K walk (a 1-mile option was available), fun activities for families, lunch and refreshments and an opportunity to honor and remember loved ones.
The event is a unifying experience, with walkers, volunteers and sponsors laughing, crying and jumping for joy – together. Perfect strangers hug and support each other as everyone comes together to walk for brothers and sisters, children and babies, nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
Some walk to give thanks that their children are healthy; others come to celebrate the birthdays of children that are no longer here. Some celebrate being cancer-free, and everyone celebrates having Cincinnati Children's in their lives.
