Adult Volunteers

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is fortunate to have several hundred adult volunteers who generously give their time every week throughout the year. These volunteers include working professionals, homemakers and retirees. Please review the questions below before downloading an application. Please note that the application process takes approximately 4-6 weeks. Mailing in an application does not guarantee you a placement as a volunteer.

  • Are you at least 18 years of age?
  • Are you able to make a commitment of at least 100 hours within one year?
  • Are you able to volunteer at least two hours every week?
  • Are you able to attend a mandatory three hour orientation?
  • Are you willing to submit to a full background check including fingerprints?
  • Are you able to complete the medical requirements?

Working closely with patients at Cincinnati Children's requires thorough medical screening for the safety of everyone involved. All necessary medical information will be discussed during the interview. These requirements, which will be offered at no cost to you, include but are not limited to:
    • Copy of 2 MMR vaccines OR proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps and Rubella
    • Results of 2 TB tests within the past six months
    • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations (if you have not previously had chickenpox)

If you answered YES to all of the above questions, please download the Adult Volunteer Application below.
