Your support helps us reduce prematurity and save tiny infants. Each year 500,000 babies in the United States are born too soon, some so small they fit in the palm of your hand. Prematurity is the major contributor to the alarming rate of infant deaths – nearly 7 percent nationally. Although heart disease is often thought of as affecting adults, pediatric heart disease is a common congenital defect, afflicting 35,000 children a year in the United States alone.
