Interrupted Aortic Arch
Normal
Interrupted aortic arch/VSD
Interrupted aortic arch: segment between the left common carotid artery and the left subclavian artery is absent.
Ventricular septal defect with blood shunting predominantly from left to right.
Large patent ductus arteriosus is the sole source of blood flow to the lower half of the body.
The aortic valve itself is often small and the region beneath it may be narrowed by muscle tissue within the ventricle.
The descending aorta is separated from the ductus arteriosus. The side of the ascending aorta is opened.
The PDA has been ligated.
The aorta is reconstructed using a direct anastomosis.
The VSD has been closed with a patch.
