What is sargramostim or GM-CSF (Leukine")?
Sargramostim or GM-CSF is used to help your child make more white blood cells so that they can more effectively fight infection. It is most often used after chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation to help your child recover from the effects of the chemotherapy faster. It is available as an injectable medication that is either given subcutaneous (under the skin) or through an intravenous (IV) line.
