After your child is referred to Cincinnati Children's, he or she will be scheduled for an evaluation by the service coordinator in the liver transplant office.
It may take three to four weeks to get an appointment with every member of the Liver Transplant Team and to schedule necessary tests or X-rays. We do our best to schedule the evaluation as soon as we can. In cases of fulminant hepatic failure (sudden liver failure) or other urgent situations, the evaluation is scheduled as soon as possible and is done in the intensive care unit.
