Window Blinds
Strangulation occurs among children when consumer products become wrapped around their necks. Common items include clothing drawstrings, ribbons or other decorations, necklaces, pacifier strings, and window blind and drapery cords.
Window blinds can be both a potential choking or strangulation hazard. If you have window blinds with a continuous loop, you can do the following to prevent injury:
- Cut the loop
- Tie the loop up high out of reach of children
- Purchase window cord wind ups
