Toys with Batteries
Most batteries for toys (AAA, AA, C and D cell types) contain toxic chemicals and many contain corrosive substances. Chewing on these can cause leakage and burns.
Smaller batteries, like those used in some cameras, calculators or hearing aids, can be a choking hazard if swallowed. They can also cause burns or other tissue damage in the gastrointestinal tract. Contact the poison control center if you think your child might have swallowed a battery.
