Nicotine is a very toxic substance. Nicotine is found in cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, nicotine chewing gum and patches used by people who are trying to quit smoking, as well as from the used cigarette filters left laying in an ashtray. Ingestions of any of these items can be very dangerous in children.
