New Research Building to Accelerate the Pace of Discovery
Cincinnati Children's recently opened a new 415,000-square-foot research building on our main campus, increasing our research laboratory space by 70 percent. The new facility is designed to encourage collaboration as researchers will be clustered by broad, overlapping interests rather than by division. This expansion will permit continued growth of research at Cincinnati Children's, ensuring we can continue to bring the most advanced techniques and resources to the fight against childhood disease. You can get involved in our research efforts through participating in clinical studies. Learn more at www.cincinnatichildrens.org/research/trials.
Visiting Policy Changes for Winter Months
To help protect the health of our patients, families and staff, Cincinnati Children's will begin visitor restrictions on Dec. 15. These restrictions are in response to the increasing prevalence of respiratory infections, not just influenza, during the winter months. In general, only those children
seeking evaluation and/or treatment should be brought to the facility. All visitors should be healthy and must be at least 14 years old. Visit www.cincinnatichildrens.org/visit-policy for more details.
Have a Say!
Join our Family Advisory Council and be a part of making positive changes at Cincinnati Children's. Council members participate in hospital decision-making and help educate families and employees about family-centered care. Each January, new members are recruited. All applicants must serve a two-year term and attend all meetings. The council meets monthly, except in July and December. Meetings alternate between days and evenings to accommodate family schedules. To nominate yourself or someone you know, call 513-636-1284 or email FAC@cchmc.org.
