Recognizing Teamwork
At Cincinnati Children’s, we call the way we practice medicine “family centered care” because we encourage families to participate in the decision-making process. We also like to celebrate their successes. If you know of a staff or family member who has worked to improve our policies or delivery of care, nominate them for the 2009 Award for Excellence in Family Centered Care. We want to honor the people who empower other patients and families to work as active partners with their child’s care team. Let us know why someone special deserves a little praise. Find nomination forms online. The deadline is Oct. 1. For information, email fac@cchmc.org or call Kay Fricke at 513-636-1284.
Cincinnati Walks for Kids
This is an easy and fun way to help Cincinnati Children’s care for sick and injured children in our community. Join us from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday, Oct. 10 for more than just a walk. It’s a good cause that’s also fun for the whole family. The non-competitive walk is about 3 miles long. A 1-mile option is also available. We’ll have face-painting, crafts, and four classic Coney Island park rides. Registration is free. Each walker is asked to raise at least $25. The money raised will help Cincinnati Children's meet the most pressing needs of the medical center. Find out more information.
