Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers a comprehensive International Adoption Center (IAC) to assist internationally and domestically adopted children, their parents, pediatricians, and community doctors, who care for them. Our comprehensive adoption services include helping families before, during, and after their adoption.
Before and During
After
The IAC has helped more than 3,000 kids who have primarily emigrated from China, Ethiopia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Haiti, and India. They bring with them unique and complex health, medical, developmental and psychological issues.
Our staff is knowledgeable about the medical and social conditions of children from other countries, is skilled in managing infectious diseases, and understands the developmental and psychological impact of institutionalization and sensory deprivation. As a part of a comprehensive medical center, the IAC offers ready access to highly qualified specialist in numerous fields.
