• Cheerleader Who Needs Brain Surgery Leads Toy Drive

When Savannah Day learned she would have to be in the hospital during the holidays to have brain surgery, the 14-year-old Virginia girl and her sisters were sad at first. They thought they'd be missing Christmas. But instead of focusing on what they would miss, they decided to see what they could do to make other hospitalized kids feel better. So they started a toy drive. To date, they have collected more than 3,500 toys that arrived at Cincinnati Children's on Dec. 11, 2013. Savannah will have brain surgery the next day.

Savannah has a brain abnormality called a Chiari malformation. For updates on her progress, follow her Facebook page at "Cheer 4 Savannah."
