What Makes Us Different

  • ParentTOUCH Program Connects Families and Offers Hope

Two decades after her own daughter's traumatic birth, Kathy Cassady returns to Cincinnati Children's regularly to give other parents hope. She is part of a volunteer program new to the hospital called ParentTOUCH, which offers bedside support from parent to parent. ParentTOUCH volunteers reassure parents that they will make it through their challenges, no matter what they have to face. Meeting Kathy came at the perfect time for Michael and Kerrie Magdich, whose son, Alexander, also had a traumatic birth. This is their story.
