Beta Blockers

The beta blockers group of medications gets its name from the fact that they block the function of the beta receptors on the blood vessels and heart muscle. They are used for a number of reasons. Some are used for control of high blood pressure, while others are used for the treatment of arrhythmias.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center staff provide information about three beta blocker drugs:
